Student Worker — Marine Engine Digital Twin Development (Python)
Opportunity summary
New technology. Great potential. Help us unlock it. Everllence is exploring digital twins to improve development, diagnostics, and day-to-day operations of some of the world’s largest marine engines.
In practice, this means developing marine engine simulations that run together with the same engine control software that operates on the actual engine, reproducing real engine behaviour in real-time. These digital twins can be used to test operating scenarios, evaluate control strategies, and support engineering decisions.
The position is part of an ongoing industrial PhD project focused on real-time marine engine digital twins. The core technology already exists; the challenge now is to transform a promising research prototype into a practical engineering tool that can be used across multiple engine platforms. This is where you come in. We are looking for someone to help automate, validate, and scale this framework.
In practice, this means making it easier to set up and use these digital twins. You will also support the exploration of new applications to bring this technology closer to real-world use.
What you will do
Improve and extend Python tools used to automate the process of building digital twins, including managing simulation parameters and handling different engine configurations1 …
