PhD scholarship in simulations of structure evolution inside metals - DTU Construct
Opportunity summary
Official occupation: ph.d., naturvidenskab og teknik. Employment conditions: Almindelige vilkår. Employer CVR: 30060946. Primary career market: Public Sector, Education & Impact (employer-sector evidence). Are you passionate about modelling, mechanics and materials science? If so, this position might be perfect for you. We are seeking a modeller to predict the evolution of internal structures in metals during plastic deformation - i.e. changes in shape due to mechanical forces - and how this relates to mechanical properties. We have first-of-its kind experimental data to inspire and validate modelling procedures and predictions.About Us: You will join an international and highly multidisciplinary team of approximately 10 PhDs and postdocs, fostering a strong collaboration between DTU Construct and DTU Physics. Our group is a global leader in the field of metal plasticity. DTU Physics invented the synchrotron-based imaging technique Dark-Field X-ray Microscopy and together we utilize it to visualize the evolution of internal structures in metals during plastic deformation, i.e. changes in shape due to mechanical forces. We work with leading international groups on modeling and conduct simulations at DTU1 …
